Discourse Vlogs

I’ve been documenting some art and tech related events. This has been somewhat unstructured: See what happens and put it together. I do generally know what event is about, type of people will be there and such.

Now I’d like to take a more directed approach selecting a particular question and interview people on different and sometimes opposing aspects of it: Discourse vlogs. One of the dictionary definitions of discourse is:

A formal, lengthy discussion of a subject, either written or spoken.

In this case it’s also visual.

Today, on the Videoblogging Flash Meeting, Bill Streeter replied to a talk on sharing on the internet is “stealing” that it wasn’t actually stealing, but copyright infringement. That stealing is of a singular, physical item, not a infinitely reproducible digital intellectual property in the form of music, video, etc. This intrigued me so I thought I’d take that up for a vlog discourse.

First I’m going to read some articles off Lawrence Lessig’s site:

And then I wanted to look for writing with different and opposing points of views.

My questions to the reader is:

  • Are there any other articles and/or books by Lessig I should read?
  • Which authors with other and opposing views should I consume?
  • I’m going to try to interview Lawrence Lessig. Who else would be good to interview?

Please put any input in the comments area.

Thank you.
